The Story
You think it's EASY
being the Tooth Fairy?
Think again--of stormy nights, dangerous pets, pearly whites hidden in pajama pockets or wrapped in dirty tissues, to say
nothing of all those thousands
of teeth falling
out all over
the world every single day. The Tooth Fairy's nights are long and hard. But
she's up for it.
She never misses
a tooth. How
does she do it?
For the first time ever, she reveals everything!

What's the Story?
Use this image to get your students talking! What is the Tooth Fairy doing with these quarters? What's with the firefly? What is the Tooth Fairy wearing?

Classroom Activity:
Tooth Fill Game
This dice game has children cover
a toothy game sheet with miniature marshmallows, based on the number they roll. Best used individually or in groups of two children. Game reinforces counting, patience, and good sportsmanship.
What you need:
*Game sheet for each player
(print out template)
*Die for each player
*Bag of mini marshmallows
*Timer (optional)
Directions:
*Each player takes turns rolling the die. With each roll, the players cover that number of teeth on their game sheet. If a “6” is rolled, for example, then the player covers six teeth with marshmallows. See how many rolls
it takes each player to fill in his or her entire teeth sheet with marshmallows!
*When all players have finished, the players can eat their marshmallow pieces for a special treat!
*Want to make the game competitive? Then use a timer, setting it for one minute. Have all the players roll their die at the same time, as many times
as possible, before the timer
goes off. The player with the most
teeth covered wins a toothy item!
(I suggest a tooth brush!)

Toothy Tidbits
*Unlike some animals, humans grow only two sets of teeth.
*The first set appears when we're babies,
the second set forms when we're five to
12 years old.
*These 32 "adult" teeth will last us a lifetime. But only if we keep them in
good shape by brushing and flossing
every single day.
Good Tooth Care
*Use a small toothbrush with soft bristles.
*Clean your teeth, gums, and tongue every morning and every night. Brush for two whole minutes!
*Don't share your tooth brush with your sisters or brothers -- or your dog.
*When you're done brushing, run the
tooth brush under running water to rinse
off any toothpaste or food. Shake off
the extra water.
*Store your toothbrush in a clean, dry, airy place so it can dry out between uses.
*Replace your tooth brush at least every couple of months. An old toothbrush doesn't clean well!
*And get a new toothbrush after you've
been sick. Throw the old one away!!
